Car General

Yes, you are required by law to close minimum liability insurance as soon as the car is registered in your name.

The terms & conditions of the insurance can be found on our website, click here.

You are legally required to take out car insurance as soon as the registration of the car is in your name; not just when you take the car on the road, as is often wrongly assumed.

A car that is still with the seller must be ensured from the moment it is registered in your name. This also applies to vehicles that are not used, but are registered in your name.

No. To insure a car, you must have a valid driving license.

As a rule, only the registered owner of the car can apply for car insurance.

As a rule, only the registered owner of the car can apply for car insurance.

No, we are not required to accept your application. If you knowingly give false information, for example when applying for your car insurance, we may reject your application and withdraw the coverage.

In the case of a misunderstanding there is a good chance that we can still insure your car. So please contact us, e.g. by phone at +5999 466 0101 or through the contact form.

You can cancel your insurance on three different instances.

1. On the main due date

This is the date the policy is renewed annually. This date is stated on your policy. You may cancel your insurance annually. Please be advised of the notice period which can be found in the policy's terms and conditions. In most cases, this period is two months.

2. In case of a premium increase or change in the terms

If the insurer increases the premium or adjusts the terms, you are allowed to cancel the insurance. Once the insurer has informed you of the changes, you have a fixed time window to cancel in writing. Please note that you cannot cancel if the premium increase is the result of an damage claim or a change in your specific situation. It must be an increase or change that applies to everyone who has an insurance policy with this specific insurer.

3. Sale of the car

If you are no longer the legal owner of the car, you may terminate your insurance. You must be able to prove with an indemnity certificate that the car is no longer registered in your name. Call our team at +5999 466 0101 for more information.

When you take out new car insurance with us, we will help you to cancel with your current car insurer. You can enter the details of your current insurer after your application. We then enter those details in a letter of insurance cancellation which you can then print, sign and send to your current insurer.

With our premium calculator you can quickly and easily calculate your premium by answering a couple of questions.

Car Coverage

Provisional coverage is temporary coverage for your car and allows you to use the car while your application is being processed. When you receive the insurance card, your application is completed.

Please note that providional coverage does not apply to Pick-ups. Pick-ups are only covered from the moment you receive your official insurance policy for your pick-up.

You will receive an email confirmation that your application has been approved.

Once you have received notification that your application has been approved, you can drive worry-free. You will receive your insurance card within a week.

It's simple. Fill in your details, choose your preferred car insurance and apply directly via the application form. We will then start processing your application.

You can apply for car insurance online. You will hear from our staff whether your application has been approved, or if the application will first be reviewed by a BSure consultant. You will also receive a confirmation email.

Third Party
Third party insurance provides the most limited coverage at the lowest premium. With a normal liability coverage, you only get reimbursed for the damage you cause with your car to (the property of) third parties; the damage to your own car will not be reimbursed. However, BSure’s Third party coverage also insures hit and run damage, conform our policy conditions.

Limited comprehensive
Limited comprehensive insurance is usually suitable for cars between five and seven years old. The Limited comprehensive insurance covers:

  • The damage you cause with your car to others (the mandatory liability coverage)
  • Damage to your vehicle caused by events such as fire and lightning, theft, joyriding and break-ins, collisions with stray animals or birds.

All Risk
All Risk insurance (also called "Casco" insurance) is usually the best choice for (relatively) new cars. The All Risk insurance covers all the items listed under Limited Comprehensive as well as damage to your own car as a result of an incident in which you are at fault.

Accidents are not always limited to property damage. The driver and passengers may be injured, sometimes with major financial consequences.

A passenger accident insurance pays a percentage of the sum insured (up to a maximum as stated in the policy) in case of death or permanent disability. This insurance also pays out if the damage was caused by the insured or when the liability of the driver or counterparty cannot be determined and the damage is not recoverable.

The Passenger Injury Insurance is included in all our car products.

Car Premium

Yes. You can choose between annual or monthly payments.

BSure collects the premium on the 28th of each month. If the premium cannot be collected you will not be insured.

We advise you to always have sufficient funds in your account so we can collect on the 28th.

If the premium for your car insurance is not or not fully paid, the coverage of your insurance is withdrawn and your car is not insured.

Car Deductible

The deductible for your car insurance is the portion of the damage that you have to pay yourself. The deductible applies only to damage to your own car, not to damage you cause to others.

If someone else is responsible for damage to your car, and we collect the compensation from the guilty party, the damage does not count towards your deductible.

Your deductible is ANG 0,- for third party damage.
Your deductible is 1% of the catalog value and a minimum of ANG 250,- for bodywork damage.

If the driver of the motor vehicle is under 23 or if the driver at the time of the collision is not listed on the policy schedule, an additional deductible of ANG 350,- applies on top of the aforesaid deductible.
If you have held your driver's license for less than a year, an additional deductible of ANG 150,- applies on top of the aforesaid deductible.

Car Damage

The types of damages insured depends on the coverage you choose:

Third party

Only damage caused with your vehicle to another  party.

Third party comprehensive

Damage caused with your vehicle, but also damage to your own vehicle from causes specified in the conditions of the policy. The most important are: theft, break-in, fire, window damage, storm damage and collision with animals. Not covered are damages caused by your fault, like not giving right of way, driving against a post, etc.

All Risk

Damage you cause with your vehicle to others as well as damage to your own vehicle, including own-fault accidents (single-vehicle accidents, not giving right of way, etc.)

Yes. We do advise you however not to settle the claim directly with the other party but to have us mediate. After we paid the counterparty, you have one year to pay the settlement on your own account to preserve your no-claim discount.

A claim affects your discount when we have to pay damages that we cannot recover from the counterparty.  (Your no-claim discount will be adjusted after settlement of the claim). There are no consequences for the bonus discount if the damage is covered under the Third party comprehensive  insurance (e.g. theft or glass breakage).

  1. Report the incident as soon as possible to the police and ask for a copy of the report.
  2. Report the damage as soon as possible to BSure.
  3. Block stolen bank cards, credit cards and cell phones immediately.

You can claim stolen clothes and luggage on your home insurance.

  1. Report the damage to the police as soon as possible.
  2. Let the police assess the damage to determine whether the accident was caused by a motor vehicle.
  3. If possible, record names and addresses of persons who can testify your car was undamaged when you parked it and damaged when you came back.
  4. Contact BSure.

We review your completed claim form and determine your liability.

If someone else has caused damage to your car, you can hold this person liable through your insurance. To assess the liability we need at least the following:

  • The name and address of potential witnesses, including occupants of your vehicle at the time of the incident.
  • Possible evidence, such as pictures.
  • Any correspondence you may receive from the counterparty.
  • The report to the police or a copy of the official police report.

Yes, you should always report damage.

The sooner you report the damage, the faster the processing can start and repairs of the car can begin. In any case, we need to be informed no later than three days after the collision or accident.

Reporting damage can initially be done by telephone, but you should always fill out a claim form as well. This form is available on request from our claims department on +5999 466 0101 or via claims@bsurecuracao.com.

Car Damage-free years

The exact composition of the bonus / malus system can be found in the policy conditions of your insurance. Here, you can also find how many steps you fall back in the system when making a claim.

Accident-free years are the number of years during which you are insured but do not have an accident or make a claim. For each year that you drive without an accident, you earn a claim-free year in the so-called bonus / malus system, increasing the no-claim discount on your premium.

When you claim damages for an accident you caused, you will fall back in the bonus / malus system. A negative number of accident-free years can result in an additional fee (of up to 20%) on your premium.

The policy’s terms and conditions specify you how many steps you fall back in the bonus system as well as the discount that comes with each step.

Our claims department can calculate for you whether or not it is advantageous for you to claim the damages.

No, they count towards your parent’s claim-free years. You can only earn claim-free years when the insurance is in your name. The only exception is when you are specified as a regular driver in the policy contract.

The claim-free years you saved only apply to your first car and are not valid for the insurance of your second car.

A no-claim certificate is proof of your accrued claim-free years. You will get this certificate from your insurance company once you cancel your insurance.

A no-claim certificate states the number of claim-free years you have accrued. You get this certificate from your insurer after you cancel your insurance. The certificate is valid for one year from the issue date, after which the claim-free years become void.

With the bonus / malus system, the insurer determines how much discount (or surcharge) will apply to the basic premium for your insurance. During the time you are insured, you accrue claim-free years for the subsequent years you drive without making an insurance claim. Based on the number of claim-free years, the insurer awards you a discount on your premium, the so-called no-claim discount. The higher you are in the bonus / malus system, the higher your discount is. The discount can grow up to 80% on the basic premium.

Yes. Present your no-claim certificate within two months after applying for a car insurance to be eligible for a no-claim discount.
